Tim Burton's gallery:
The disposition of the website is funny and very different than other websites.
In his website, we found his paints in his Graphic universe, "the gothic style". In particular, many paints deals with his movies like "The Nightmare Before Christmas" or "Edward Scissorhands".

German expressionists:

This two paints are two good examples for the aestetics of the Gothic. We are in a dark theme, and the sublime expression is present.We feel the feelings waited in the Gothic art.

In this two pictures pick out of films, we feel the demesurate dimension, the anormal setting, the strange make up, accentuation on dark light etc..

CHIAROSCURO:(clair obscur)
In art is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, so in the Gothic Art this method of the "chiaroscuro" is very often used.

Study of a famous a painting.

This painting is entitled "the Nightmare". The artist who painted it was John Henry Fuseli  also known as Johann Henrish Fussli, he's an Anglo-Swiss. This work of art was made in 1781. We can found it at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Jacqueline Woodson is a contempory writer with african american origins.

Often, she write books for young adults, like i'am !

She wrote many books like "each kindness" "coming on home soon" or "my crazy beautiful world". 

I would like to talk about the novel  "my crazy beautiful world", because i read it in class and i want to give my opinion about it.

so, firstly this novel is about her life, when se was a young girl. She explains with details the life of Angela, her pen name in the story.

At the beginning we understand that she's not feel good in her body, in her head and in her world. She is tall, skinny and shy, so there is a big contrast

between the other girls of her school. Actually, when we read this novel, we have the impression to visit every place of angela's brain, because we

understand her way of thinking of herself or with her family. For example when she describes her mother, she's not naive, she see and she understand all

the things which made her mother, a very romantic and dreamer person. 

in the novel, that's i love. The way she see and explains her life when she was a young girl.
